BlogDesk Post Editor

I’ve been looking for a program that could post to WordPress blogs for some time, as I wrote about in my post “In Search of a Desktop Blogging Tool“. Having tried loads of different programs both paid for and free, and not having found one that I could get on with, I was a little sceptical when I had a tip from Matthew about BlogDesk.

Fortunately I was totally wrong and BlogDesk has turned out to be just what I was looking for and more. I have been trying it out for a few weeks now before I posted about it just to make sure. So many of the programs for posting to blogs seem to mangle the html but not BlogDesk. So far it has been a pleasure to use.

You can post to multiple blog accounts with all the WordPress features you would expect. What is really great is the ability to crop and resize images from within BlogDesk, you can even add drop shadows if you like that sort of thing.

Thanks for the nice comment. I am curious, have you had any issues with Blog Desk? I sometimes see that my post is not live and I think it has to do with the time setting…

    Have a GREAT day!

    Hi Matthew,

No not yet, I have had far more issues with other software, especially where html is concerned - Often these type of programs spit out some horrid code.

    Hi Ainslie,

Thanks for the tip on Blog Desk. We are trying it out and it seems to work good so far. I like the ability to either write in code and preview, or write text and preview or edit the code!

Glad to here you are getting on with it.

I forgot to mention that it was also free!

Another good feature is how it can be set to save a copy of your post locally just in case your blog database crashes.

I think I firgured out the not posting issue, it has to do with the time, I found it’s best to click the “add time stamp” tick just before you post and set the clock a few minutes fast. I’ve tried them and BLOG DESK is by far the best!
    Cheers,
    Matthew

I have not had any issues with posting times at all. I have even scheduled posts in advance with no problems. Seems strange.

I have had a small issue with MS Office setup running every time I started BlogDesk.

I was cancelling the setup but I have let it run as advised in the BlogDesk forum and the problem is gone.
