More about the Ebony Theme for WordPress

I have been busy working out the last few glitches to the Ebony theme and giving it a slightly new look as I was not happy with the original graphics. I’ve just not been sure about this theme from the start as it is very dark but I have received some good feedback and it seems that people who like dark themes like it.

I still have a few minor things to sort out but it should be ready for release within the next few days. Ebony is a very basic theme but is fully prepared for localisation and has widgetized sidebars.

    The design is really nice. I’ve done a lot of tweaks on the test version you provided me.

    I have tested it on multiple monitors and as we both agreed, it looks great on laptop monitors but on CRT’s it’s too dark even with the new header and footer graphics. The lines (original graphics) and wood grain look (new graphics) really faint on regular monitors and it’s like they’re not even there.

    I’m thinking the grays need to be lightened up a little more and also the blue looks like neon on regular monitors which I feel is a little to bright with this theme.

    How’s that for feedback? :)

    I know, they are very dark on CRT monitors. I think I am going to have to get back into Photoshop and brighten it up a little.

    As if cross browser compatibility wasn’t enough. Now there is cross monitor compatibility ;-)

    It looks fine theme…
    Maybe you should test it with Opera 9.0..
    Cheack (search bar + footer)..

    I have checked with Opera 9.01 and it looks fine. Have you spotted something that doesn’t look right?

    I’m sorry i just look fine…(i don’t know what happend; last time was search bar was outside the theme bar -NO search bar right now)
    ok maybe the footer text need to fix with (opera + IE6)
    i will Inform you by Email if any thing was wrong.

    I have checked and everything looks fine. Maybe the footer text is a bit low but not bad.

    Great news. I like dark themes for blogs, if the text is still readable. You are doing a great job.
