I Need a Mac - Another WP-Multiflex-3 Update
WP-Multiflex-3 has been updated to version 1.2!
I was alerted to a Safari bug in WP-Multiflex-3 earlier today which came as a big suprise. I regularly check rendering by grabbing a Safari screen shot from Browsercamp. I have also found that if a theme renders well in Firefox there often isn’t a problem in Safari.
I suppose it serves me right! I had checked everything was looking good, and it was, but then I made a load of changes and didn’t check again before release. Complacency isn’t a good thing!
I’m pleased to say that it is now fixed but find it is hard to belive what it was. The whole problem, it looked awful, was caused by a stray character in the style sheet. This little fellow, here between the quites “`” was the culprit. It almost looks like a speck of dirt on the screen but it has the power to bring Safari to its knees.
I think I need a Mac ASAP. Time to start saving up!
If you don’t want to update the whole theme just replce the old style sheet with the new one and everything should be fine.

Hi, just updated the “style” sheet. In latest Firefox everything looks okay, however in IE7 the left sidebar bullets interfers with the text.
You can see it on f1racing.dk with the IE7.

Hi Ainslie,
thanks for the prompt fix, I just replaced the style sheet and it looks good on Safari, Firefox and IE7 too. I don’t have the sidebar bullets problem in IE7 as in Reinar’s site.
Macs are awesome, you should go for it…, it’s for creative people like you!

Okay, I upgraded all files and things run fine now - also in IE7. Don’t know what happened!?
After enabling the side widgets I don’t seem to be able to add my own stuff. Seems as if the widgets overrule everything else… Any tips? Anything I have to do specifically to do this.
Example: i want to add to the right side bar;
FIA
Formula1.com
GP2 Series
ChampCar
MotoGP
World Rally
DTM
This just wont show on the website??

Alright Gentlemen,
I updated all files and things seem fine now; however now Widgets seem to overrule any stuff I manually want to chunk in the sidebars? Any ideas?

Ok, looks like the major problems have been fixed
@Reiner, as you have found out you can’t just edit the sidebars to add stuff. You have to do it through the Widgets as they override the normal sidebars.
Personally I prefer to hard-code the sidebars so I have complete control but you could create your own widgets but these are in the file functions.php. If you take a look you will see where I have defined some. You could follow these as a template to roll your own.
Alternatively you can use html in text widgets or php in the php widget.

Hi Ainsley - you’re the man!
I think I’ve got the hang of it now - just had to play a bit I guess
Thanks for your attention, I really appreciate it.
Thumbs up for this theme *****

Quick question,
I really like your theme but notice that you can’t specify what template to use when you write/edit a page. Any idea why I can’t do it?

Hi JL, That’s easy to answer. There aren’t any page templates other than the default so there is nothing to choose.
Maybe in a future version there will be more options.

Hello Ainsley,
Any thoughts of css drop-down menus? And Live search?

I don’t think the drop-down menu will be making it unless somebody will write a totally customisable page list plug-in.
Live search? Don’t know, maybe in a future release. At the moment I am way to busy to even look at the theme.

I’m working on a Dutch Translation of WP-Multiflex-3. It’s not ready yet, I keep you posted.
