Here’s a New Design
Here is something I have been working on, that I have called Modrel.
What do you think? If it turns out ok I shall probably make it into a WordPress theme and then use it here on Webgazette. Which of course means I could then release the Webgazette theme that I am currently using. That should make a few people happy as I have been asked to release it many times.
It’s nowhere near finished yet and it may take me a while but I’ll keep working away steadily.

Nice looking design Ainslie. However, if you end up using it for your own site, would you keep the sexy girl in the top left?

Seriously though, I don’t know. She does a good job of pointing out the site title but I suppose she ain’t exactly representative of me or my site.
I like her and I want to keep her, but what do you think?

I think that you need a horizontal menu, and that such a theme would benefit from a 3-part sidebar like the one you have in the Chameleon theme. That would end up being something similar to my Daleri Selection theme, but it is my favorite layout model right now so it would be nice to see it here. I don’t like the justified text though, but that’s just me…
Why not try some wild color with it? I’m planning to make a surprise change on my site in a while just to get some more color into it - and not just the classie blue-gray-white-black combination that I have used for years now. If you want a challenge, I can reveal the details - if you join the fun!
And of course you should keep the girl. Then I can send my little header-image-silhouette-guy over to your site for a visit…

Looks great, I like the blue, I also like the way you divided the content into three parts, make sure you can fit the navigation somewhere

Actually I’d be interested in the webgazette theme if you end up using the one above for your site. I like the formal layout of the webgazette site.

I like the green theme of Webgazette. Actually, I am a green colour fan
but I think a refresh would be good, you should use Modrel. Waiting for new interesting posts….
