Is Google Evil?

No posts for weeks then 2 in one day!

Google has been getting a lot of press over it’s recent review of its Page Rank that has seem many blogs Page Rank dropping through the floor.

From what I have been reading it would seem the many are suggesting less that honourable intentions.

Is Google evil or are they just trying to make search results more relevant?

I don’t think PR is that important overall it is just a tool and either we like it or not we can’t control it…maybe we should concentrate more on traffic and SERPs?

Oh they’re evil and no mistake. Without any question of a doubt the recent PageRank slaps have been motivated by protecting their advertising revenue and not to improve the quality of the SERPs.

Great to see you back blogging again, by the way :)

My PR has dropped from 7/10 to 4/10 and I have fared better than most!

I’m not really sure that PR means that much to me but it may have an affect on potential advertisers. It would seem to me that Page Rank is worthless if it can be changed, so quickly, so easily!

It’s a shame that Google doesn’t feel able to compete with the likes of TLA. I have tried stingy Google ads and the payout is rubbish for relatively small sites. TLA allows sites like mine to cover the hosting costs like Google never would.
