Ford Turns up the Heat with its new Summer Scorcher!!!!
NEVER mind what the weather experts predict
– Ford says summer will be a scorcher thanks to its latest model. The Blue Oval has just turned up the heat for fast Ford fans everywhere with an even faster, more furious, Focus RS.
It’s a limited run of the current potent 2.5-litre Focus RS, but the engine has been tweaked to pump out a muscular 345bhp, a sizeable leap from the current model’s 301bhp.
Just 500 will start rolling off the production lines in May, so Ford has titled it the Focus RS500.
That number is to be shared between 20 European countries, but Britain will get 101 of them, which says a lot about the size of the fast-Ford following here.
This latest fast Ford isn’t breathtakingly gorgeous. but neither does it come with the runaway price tags of sleek, sensual coupes. It should cost around £27,000 when it reaches the UK in early summer, a bargain price for such a master-blaster.
The tuned, 2.5-litre five¬cylinder petrol RS500 will mark the end of the current RS production run and Ford believes it will quickly sell out in the UK.
For a stand-out, purposeful look, the limited edition model sports a unique matt black finish with matching alloy wheels. However, there will be touches of brighter colours dotted around it; the brake callipers are red, it gets blue RS side badges, plus a special blue and red RS500 badge on the tailgate.
Joe Bakaj, Ford of Europe’s vice president for product development, says: “We were determined to mark the end of production for the current, acclaimed Focus RS with something even more special.
“From its stunning looks to its intoxicating performance, we have no doubt that the RS500 will be appreciated and quickly snapped up by performance car enthusiasts.
“This vehicle joins a long line of iconic RS Fords, and is worthy of the RS500 name – which became synonymous with success on the road and track with the legendary Sierra RS500 Cosworth that dominated saloon car racing during the late 1980s.” For more information on the RS500, go to

The latest S-Max, which boasts sportier lines than its sibling Galaxy seven-seater, was honoured by Fleet News as best multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The leading industry publication also cited the model’s Easy Fuel System as the best technical innovation of 2010.
Priced from £20,645, the stylish S-Max beat five other MPV rivals on the Fleet News shortlist for the top title, while its filler nozzle system also impressed the judges.
The Ford system prevents, for example, a driver of a diesel-engined model from mistakenly filling it with petrol – a costly error.
The judges praised Easy Fuel, saying: “It eliminates a problem which can cost thousands of pounds.”
