The first thing to strike you about the Renault Megane Coupe is its stunning looks. It is definitely an attractive car, but there is also a lot more to it than mere beauty. It comes with French chic as standard and manages to create the impression of a really high-priced car; a lot more expensive than the actual price tag. One look at this vehicle and you just know that the designers had a lot of fun and satisfaction while creating this model.
Design of the Renault Megane Coupe
The Megane Coupe comes with an athletic feel to it. The front of the car may provide hints of its relatives but in the overall effect is one of uniqueness. The design is full of lines which swoop along the car and add to its dynamic personality. The overall impression is one of quite nobility; this is not a car you want to drive if your aim is to create an impression of humility. The Renault Megane Coupe is in no way a brash car, but it is certainly no wallflower either.
Under the Hood
The new Megane comes with a choice of engines. The 1.5 litre dci turbo diesel is similar to what you can find in the Nissan and lacks a bit of punch. The 2.0 litre TCe Turbo on the other hand is far more impressive and far better suits the meaty look of the car with its 178bhp. This is probably all the power that most of us need. The car also comes equipped with electronic power steering and this makes turning an effortless affair.
Inside the Renault Megane Coupe
If you are looking for a bit of space then you are really going to be spoilt by this car. The availability of room seems to have been of great importance to the designers and you will find plenty of space in the cabin and you also get a 344 litre space for your luggage. Black leather is used all over the interior and this provides a nice plush feel to it. The only real criticism about the inside of the car is that it could benefit with a few more inches of head room; despite the fact that the inside has plenty of space it still manages to feel a bit limited height-wise – not a huge problem.
Some Final Thoughts
Almost all of the reviews dealing with the new Renault Megane Coupe have been positive. This is hardly surprising because the car does deserve a lot of praise. If you are after a vehicle that looks great and performs equally well then you could certainly do a lot worse. This is a nice car to drive and even the 1.5 litre diesel should prove a pleasure to use. The really nice thing about this car is that it makes you feel like you are behind the wheel of something really expensive without the need for you to give your bank manager a heart attack. It is a pity about the low roof but no car is perfect.
