Tips For Hiring A Good Web Design Agency

Hiring A Good Web Design Agency

Hiring a web design agency is no easy feat because there are many pitfalls. You need to avoid hiring an agency that seems experienced but actually outsources cheap and ineffective labor. Here are several tips that will help you to hire a good web design agency:

Ensure that they have a full development team

If you need web design services, make sure that you hire a web team. Many web design agencies have a portfolio that is full of business cards, logos, and letterheads. You should not base your opinion on just that.

If you want a redesigned front-end Word Press site, experience will not matter. However, if you want to build a website from scratch, make sure the agency that you hire has enough knowledge to do it.

Hiring A Good Web Design Agency

Make sure their marketing goes beyond development and design

According to Colby Richards, the owner of a web design agency in Portland, most people who have businesses on the web know that SEO, or search engine optimization, is essential to promote your site properly and get it to the top of the search engine results.

If you do not want to spend a fortune on Google Adwords for every lead, SEO is the best option.

If a web team builds a wonderful site that is aesthetically appealing and functional but lacks metadata and picture descriptions, what good is it?

You can avoid this scenario by hiring a design agency that has enough tools to make your site searchable. Moreover, you should not believe any agency that tells you they provide SEO services without going into details.

Ask about their testing platforms

There is nothing as annoying as spending a lot of money on a website only to realize that it is full of bugs. You need to ask the agency that you want to hire how they perform testing before completing their projects. What support do they offer for making changes to the site once it is complete?

The client should not be tasked with looking for oversights and bugs. This job belongs to the web design agency.

Ask for references

Just because a company claims to have done work in the past does not make it true. Can their previous clients vouch for them? Make sure that you get several references to ascertain that you are hiring a capable team.

Look at their corporate website

Is there anything about the agency’s website that you do not like? You should bring it up with them before you make any final decisions. If their website is poorly built, what makes you so sure that yours will be any better?

Consider the budget information, deadlines, and cost

Asking for cost information in advance is a wise move. Most companies might hesitate to hand over this information right away, but you have to insist. A good web design team should be able to work with your budget.

If you provide a deadline, the agency needs to meet it. If they can work with the set parameters, you should consider hiring them.

Ask about their process

Asking the agency about their action plan is a good starting point. The process varies from one company to the next. While some have flexible steps, other companies have a more stringent module. The key lies in finding out what the process is and how they plan to implement it. What overall impact will it have on the overall project?

Choosing a web design agency that fits your set criteria can be very useful if the right questions and areas are explored. Although the process of choosing a good web design agency takes time, it will be worth it in the end. However, you need to be careful, especially if it is your first time choosing a web design agency.

TSG Wins 2016 Nintex Partner Award for Solution Innovation

Technology Services Group (TSG) are celebrating winning the EMEA “Solution Innovation Award” at Nintex’s 5th Annual Partner Awards.

Presented at the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto the awards recognise partners who are driving global awareness and adoption of Nintex’s Workflow Automation platform with innovative programs and solutions.

“TSG’s Chief Technology Officer Paul Burns (2nd from left) receives the award on behalf of TSG at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference.”

The Solution Innovation Award recognises the ingenuity, technical sophistication, and business impact of a partner’s solutions. For TSG the winning solution in question was the already much-lauded customer service success story for national housing association Home Group.

Tony Hughes, SharePoint Specialist at TSG said “News of this award caps off a fantastic few days for this particular solution. Earlier this week Home Group also picked up three Silver Awards at the Directors’ Club’s “2016 National Contact Centre Improvement Awards”.

“The Home Group solution uses workflow and forms to guide customer service representatives to the right, controlled response regardless of their level of experience. What caught Nintex’s attention was how the technology was being used and that the data captured from the calls and guided questioning was not used as would traditionally be the case. They visited the site to see it in action, and understood the system immediately.”

The solution for Home Group has immediately reaped benefits for the housing association saving them £220,000 in the first year alone in first time dispatch accuracy, and an error rate now below 3%. The time is taken to train new call operatives has also reduced dramatically from 30 days to 10 days.

“This really is excellent news for TSG and a true reflection the expertise of our award-winning SharePoint team,” said Paul Burns, Chief Technology Officer at TSG. “This is the most important category at Nintex’s partner awards and is fiercely competed with over 100 entries this year. We were runners up in 2015, so to win this year just confirms the level of quality and consistency we have.

“SharePoint and Nintex’s technology form the basis of a number of customer success stories we are currently deploying to create better business processes and efficiencies for our customers.”

Nintex’s VP of Channels & Product Marketing Josh Waldoadded “TSG is a well-deserving winner in the 2016 Nintex Partner Awards. Nintex’s success is based on the success of our global partner network and our 6,000-plus customers. From automating workflows and the generation of documents to close sales deals faster, to securing approvals to bring new products to market, to streamlining the employee induction process – everyone who is part of the Nintex community is positively improving the way in which we work.”

Enterprise Video Conferencing Allows IT to Show Instead of Tell

Enterprise Video Conferencing

Trying to explain a procedure such as Outlook setup over the phone can be a frustrating experience for everyone, especially an IT professional.

Being able to show a customer how to set up an email account without traveling to his office is one of the many advantages of enterprise video conferencing. The increased efficiency, customer satisfaction and cost savings certainly make a small initial investment in a good webcam worthwhile.

Interoperability is Huge

Before an IT professional can start helping a customer via video conference, he needs a platform that is compatible. With so many operating systems, software suites and types of equipment available to businesses, it’s up to IT service providers to master interoperability.

Without the flexibility to reach as many customers as possible, IT businesses risk losing customers and will have a hard time finding new ones. The Blue Jeans Network enables enterprise video for IT that is widely interoperable. Being able to connect with more users makes video conferencing a more valuable solution, Chloe Green of Information Age reports.

Cloud-based solutions also can eliminate the cost of purchasing additional hardware to receive video conference services.

Cloud-based software not only saves companies money, it also eliminates the need to continually download and install updates. Coupling those conveniences with the ability to link with customers via cellphone, laptop, desktop or a dedicated video conference suite can give IT service providers a huge boost in sales and profit.

Train Employees

Most people do not enjoy sitting through a long PowerPoint presentation in a dark conference room. With today’s mobile technology, it’s a wonder anyone looks up from their cellphone during a meeting.

Enterprise video can help employees break free from the conference room and view training presentations from their workstations or from home. Because they are not forced to sit in a cold, dark room listening someone drone on, employees are more likely to engage in an enterprise format such as a webinar.

Unlike a traditional teleconference, employees can be more engaged during a live video conference because of the added visual features of the format. This can lead to a more fulfilling experience during the learning process. In a recent survey, 82 percent of respondents said they make more effort during a video conference as compared with an audio-only conference call, James Bourne of AppsTechNews reported.

Instructors are more likely to receive quality feedback from students, and students will not have to suffer through repetitive questions common in traditional classrooms.

Administrators can record video conferences and allow employees access to them for review or to catch up.

Reaching Outside

As the business world becomes more global with more access to high-speed internet, companies  no longer have to restrict hiring to local candidates because of budget restraints. Recent research shows talent acquisition professionals greatly prefer video conferencing for interviews instead of phone interviews, according to Onrec.

The feasibility of employing remote IT professionals is much greater with enterprise video conferencing. Employers have a larger pool of talent thanks today’s technology and don’t have to pay for employee relocation. Collaboration among employees across oceans is now possible with live video conferencing.

On the sales side of the IT market, companies can use video conferencing to demonstrate services, show case studies and engage with prospects. The videos can be recorded and edited into smaller clips for distribution across several social media platforms and embedded in the company website.

Smartphones Lead the Way

The ability to integrate enterprise video with mobile devices is only going to become more important in the coming years. Almost everyone has a smartphone, and people are more likely to forget their wallet when leaving the house than they are their cell phone.

Tablets are great, but most users keep them at home for use as a second screen when watching television. Now that reading apps and audio book apps are available on cellphones, there is less motivation to lug a 7-inch tablet around outside the house. The chances of someone using a laptop during a commute on public transportation are pretty slim.

Like the virtual reality industry surge has proven this year, cloud-based, enterprise video conferencing solutions may be destined to integrate even further with smartphones. The lower the price point, the more likely people are to adopt a new technology, Eric Rachlin of Tech Crunch reports.

Smaller companies are not going to spend a ton of money on hardware when they can achieve the same results with a low-cost, cloud-based solution. Cell phones are so inexpensive nowadays; they tend to be an automatic perk for employees.

Cell phones likely will be the prime gateway for VR and video conferencing in the future. Along with the industry trend to integrate apps with instant messaging and social media platforms, the communications sector is continually becoming more compact and efficient. The most successful IT professionals will fully embrace these trends.
